COURSES

Our highly experienced Accredited MHFA Instructors facilitate evidence based courses developed by Mental Health First Aid Australia.

Introduction

Around 1 in 5 Australians aged 16-85 experience a common mental illness each year (SMHWB, 2007). Many people feel uncomfortable and unprepared when thinking about starting a conversation with someone they are concerned about.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches participants how to assist people who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.

MFHA Australia uses rigorous scientific methods to create and evaluate the courses and trains and accredits MHFA Instructors. Further information about MHFA can be found at https://mhfa.com.au/about/our-activities/our-purpose-vision-mission
